Tony and Melissa named ‘DWTS All-Stars’ champs!

“Now they have one!” – Tom Bergeron

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are the “Dancing With The Stars All-Stars” champions. Host Bergeron named the dancing duo the champions, with Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough in second place and Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy in third place.

When the announcement was made, the TV censors had to bleep what brothers Val and Maks Chmerkovskiy yelled out. They were obviously super stoked for friend Dovolani, who was long overdue to win the mirror-ball trophy. I loved their reaction!

Congrats to Melissa, Tony, and all involved for a great season!

Sabrina Bryan dances her way to ‘DWTS’ All-Stars

The votes are in and the final contestant for the “Dancing With the Stars” (“DWTS”) All-Star edition is former Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan.

Fans cast their votes for the 13th contestant, choosing between Bryan, Kyle Massey, and Carson Kressley. The other 12 contestants were announced a few weeks ago.

Bryan will grace the dance floor with professional dancer Louis Van Amstel. Both appeared for the announcement on “Good Morning America” on Monday morning.

The “DWTS” All-Star edition premieres September 24, 2012, on ABC.

‘The Voice’ vs. ‘Dancing with the Stars’ … only one has Tony Lucca

Once again, I have the TV dilemma of which show to watch live, and which to attempt to watch on Tivo. I know there are bigger problems in this world, but in my world this is a big deal.

I have “Dancing with the Stars” set to record on season pass because that is one of my favorite shows. However, “The Voice” has Tony Lucca this season and now I have to watch that, too!

Tony Lucca was on the “Mickey Mouse Club” (MMC) when I was a teen and I had a major crush on him. I met him when some of the MMC crew toured. And I’ve followed his music career online the past few years, hoping he’d get the recognition he deserves. Once I found out he was going to be on “The Voice,” there was no question that I’d have to watch.

In the early 1990s, Tony starred alongside Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, former girlfriend Keri Russell, and of course, “The Voice’s” Christina Aguilera. The talent on MMC was amazing and I’ve been following the careers of the alumni ever since. Some have made it big (some I just mentioned), but others are still struggling to get that big break. Tony finally has his chance, so I’m behind him all the way.

So my to-do list for this evening:

  1. Watch Tony Lucca on “The Voice”
  2. Vote for Tony Lucca on “The Voice”
  3. Catch up (fast forward through) with “Dancing with the Stars” (Jack Wagner is off, so only a few left I really care about)
  4. Sleep
  5. Oh, get my son to sleep. He’s still up. OK, get kid to sleep, then go back to step 1.

Don’t forget to vote for Tony! http://www.nbc.com/the-voice/vote/

Update: Just realized “How I Met Your Mother” (“HIMYM”) was a new episode tonight!

6. Stop blogging.

7. Watch “HIMYM”

8. Write more tomorrow about how snotty Christina Aguilera was to Tony Lucca on “The Voice.”

‘DWTS’ and ‘PLL’ have me glued to TV

Thank goodness for Tivo!

The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” (DWTS) premiered tonight, but the season finale of “Pretty Little Liars” (PLL) and big reveal of “A” is on ABC Family.  I was able to catch my personal faves dance on ”DWTS” … Maria Menounos and Jack Wagner (aka Frisco Jones from “General Hospital“).

Now I have to flip back to “PLL” and catch up on what I missed. And I now have to stay off Twitter so I don’t get the spoilers!

So Tivo is on, but laptop and Smartphone are being turned off now. Well, shortly. OK, signing off now!

Gotta love technology!

‘All I Need’ …. is Jack Wagner on ‘Dancing With The Stars’

With all of the crap going on in the world, I look forward to fun news and announcements. So, the cast announcement for the next season of “Dancing With The Stars” (DWTS) had my full attention this morning.

Jack Wagner on DWTS

Jack Wagner on DWTS

I had not even heard any rumors for this season’s cast, so I was on the edge of my couch, grasping my cell phone ready to Tweet and blog all about it. When actor/singer Jack Wagner was announced and semi-graced the stage (his trip was of course accidental), I jumped out of my seat and nearly spilled my coffee.

Every season I look forward to there being at least one of my former crushes from childhood/teenhood (past examples are Joey McIntyre, Joey Lawrence, Donny Osmond, Ralph Macchio) to grace the dance floor. So I was not disappointed to see soap icon Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones from “General Hospital” and some other soaps including “Melrose Place” … basically, he is secret agent Frisco Jones to me!) step out on the stage.

So now the questions arise … Will he sing “All I Need” or another one of his songs from the 1980s? Am I the only one who remembers his songs?  The chance of him singing on the DWTS stage is unlikely, but hopefully he will at least dance to something related to his songs, Frisco, or “General Hospital.”

Kristina and Jack Wagner, Frisco and Felicia on General Hospital

Felicia and Frisco Jones, 'General Hospital' ABC

And Kristina Wagner, if you are reading this, us die-hard Frisco and Felicia fans would love to see you in the audience. I know he is your ex-husband and all (they were married in real life, too), but seeing you support him would give fans that long-awaited Frisco and Felicia reunion. We’ll take what we can get.  And if ex-fiancee and “Melrose Place” co-star Heather Locklear shows up, we could have a soap-themed love triangle right in the audience!

Here is the full cast of season 14 of DWTS, along with their professional dance partners (whom frankly, I believe are more famous than some of the “celebrities.”) …

  • Jack Wagner will dance with pro Anna Trebunskaya
  • Sherri Shepherd with pro Val Chmerkovskiy
  • Melissa Gilbert with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy (Yeah! Maks is back!)
  • Martina Navratilova with pro Tony Dovolani
  • Jaleel White with DWTS champ Kym Johnson
  • Donald Driver with pro Peta Murgatroyd
  • Maria Menounos with three-time DWTS champ Derek Hough
  • Roshon Fegan with pro Chelsie Hightower
  • William Levy with two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
  • Gavin DeGraw with reigning DWTS champ Karina Smirnoff
  • Gladys Knight with pro Tristan MacManus
  • Katherine Jenkins with two-time DWTS champ Mark Ballas

DTWS premieres Monday, March 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
