“Grease” stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta have reunited for a Christmas album!

Anyone who knows me, knows this is huge! “Grease” is my all-time favorite movie, as well as the film’s soundtrack being my favorite. I’ve also been lucky enough to meet Newton-John and Travolta, the stars of the 1978 movie, in-person (separately).  They were both so sweet!  I am so looking forward to their new album (CD), “This Christmas.”

Newton-John reportedly texted Travolta last Christmas to inform him that their “Grease” movie duet “You’re The One That I Want” became the best-selling duet in pop music history.  The idea for the Christmas album then followed.

“From the moment we decided to do this, magic happened. Everyone we contacted agreed to do it,” Travolta said in a statement.

“It just fell into place,” said Newton-John.  “With our busy schedules, I don’t know how we got it done. John and I have always connected. That’s never gone away. When we’re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another. We’ve been through some amazing experiences together.”

“This Christmas” has the two stars performing Christmas songs, along with other stars such as Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett.  Proceeds from the album will go to the stars’ charities: the Jett Travolta Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in Melbourne, Australia.

Check out the songs on the album (CD) below!  There are mostly Christmas classics, but an original song, ”I Think You Might Like It,” has my full attention.  The song was written by Jay Farrar, who wrote Newton-John and Travolta’s “Grease” duet “You’re the One that I Want.”  The new song is described as something of a sequel to that classic, according to ABC News.
