Matthew Perry is back!
I’ve longed for Matthew Perry to make a successful return to the sitcom world and I think his new show will (literally) “Go On!”
“Go On” has Matthew back on the NBC primetime line-up, and back on my TV screen, every Tuesday. It doesn’t replace my “Friends”-day (Thursdays, when “Friends” aired), but at least I can get weekly laughs from Matthew again.
It has been almost a decade since “Friends” said farewell. Matthew has starred in a couple of shows since then that didn’t make it. And I’ve missed my laughs from cutie Chandler Bing, I mean Matthew.
The premise of “Go On” is a little awkward because it is about radio host Ryan King who is coping with the loss of his wife. However, the show is very funny and doesn’t dwell on the sadness.
I honestly wasn’t sure what to think at first, but after watching the first episode and now a few others, I can say it really is funny. Sure there are sad moments, but that’s what gives the show a real, personal feel. The overall tone of the show, though, very funny.
So really hoping I’m not the only fan of his new show. If this one doesn’t make it, how can I “Go On?!”
