‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood’ brings Mister Rogers to new generation
“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!”
That popular tune was part of my childhood in the 1970s/1980s, as “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” was a staple on children’s morning TV and PBS. Now a new show by The Fred Rogers Company carries on the tradition of the late children’s TV pioneer with “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.”
The sweater, the trolley, and the classic neighborhood are back. My 4-year-old son and I enjoyed watching the new children’s show this morning on PBS, and will likely make it a part of our morning TV lineup. (Check out more on the new show here.)
“It’s such a good feeling” to watch and listen to the lessons and songs I grew up with being carried on to my son and his peers.
