I’ve been waiting for months (along with all “Live” fans) to find out who will fill in the permanent seat next to Kelly Ripa in the morning, and the word on the Web is Michael Strahan.

The former football star has co-hosted “Live With Kelly” a ton of times, and now online and TV reports are stating he is the one replacing the seat of Regis Philibin (nobody could really replace Regis, just his seat.)  Although, ABC has not given official confirmation.

Strahan was one of my faves, so I’ll be cool with that choice. The official announcement will be made on “Live With Kelly” on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, when Kelly and her new co-host will walk out together.

I would have loved if Neil Patrick Harris or Seth Meyers could have filled the seat, but I love them on their current shows (“How I Met Your Mother” and “Saturday Night Live,” respectively) and wouldn’t want them to leave just yet. Maybe in a few years? Neil and Seth are hilarious, naturals in the chair, and have great chemistry with Kelly.

Michael also has been hilarious and great with Kelly, so I think I’m happy with the choice. With that cute gap-toothed grin, hotness, and great personality, I see “Live With Kelly and Michael” being a success.
