Another ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fave leaving the show
Say it isn’t so …
McSteamy can’t go!
First, we learned that actress Chyler Leigh, who played Dr. Lexie Grey (one of my faves), has left “Grey’s Anatomy.” Her character died following a plane crash involving several of the other doctors in the season eight finale, and an official announcement on her departure was made shortly after.
When Lexie died, there was a very emotional scene with Dr. Mark Sloan (played by Eric Dane), aka McSteamy, who (I think) was her soul mate. He was heartbroken.
And now he has left us fans heartbroken. Dane will be leaving the show after appearing in a few episodes to wrap-up Mark’s storyline, according to a Michael Ausiello report on TVLine.com.
Actress Kim Raver, who played Dr. Teddy Altman, has also left the show. Her character was fired in the season finale.
“Grey’s Anatomy” returns for season nine on September 27, 2012, on ABC.
Note to creator Shonda Rhimes:
Please don’t let any other fan favorites/hotties leave before the show concludes (this means Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka McDreamy, played by Patrick Dempsey). You are going into season 9, so I’m assuming the show is near the end of its run. Mark was one of my favorite characters, and I know I’m not alone.
And, if you don’t mind, can you bring in another hot actor to fill in Mark’s scrubs? Thanks!
