What a difference a day, and sunshine, makes
The rainy weather yesterday left me a painful, sleepy wreck … but today, the sun came out, literally.
I woke up this morning with a little more energy (and when I say “wake up,” I mean coffee, stretching, and medicine are already in motion) than yesterday. For a few reasons, I think, yesterday morning was a train wreck.
I woke up yesterday extremely fatigued and sore (more than my usual Fibromyalgia/Myofascial Pain Syndrome self). The muscles in my left thigh were so sore I wanted to rip my leg off (my fictional go-to way of getting rid of the problem). It was rainy outside, so that no doubt contributed to it. I was so bummed because my son got some new outdoor toys for his birthday and I wanted to go outside with him and check them out. Instead, I laid on the couch with a pillow and blanket, barely able to stay awake to keep an eye on him while he played inside.
I ended up convincing my son to lay in bed with me and watch a movie. I fell asleep … he jumped all over and under the blankets, and tackled the dog a few times. But needless to say, I was able to get some rest.
A fruit and veggie smoothie also helped, as did lots of water. At least I optimistically think they helped.
I also then realized that I forgot to take my medicine in the morning. Oops! No wonder I had such a rough morning.
The afternoon was much better, after I took my medicine and the sun came out (Cue the music … “I can see clearly now, the rain is gone …” ). But all in all, the day was mostly a sleepy, painful train wreck.
Today I had more energy throughout the day, and kept up with errands including taking my 4-year-old son to his well-check doctor appointment (shots, yikes), and shopping with him at Target.
I did, however, have to head home at that point. Can’t get too crazy! The fruit market will have to wait until tomorrow, which hopefully will also be a better day.
P.S. I was able to do some exercises with my foam roller and a little yoga outside tonight on my deck. Felt great.
